CUCollaborate APIs

CUCollaborate APIs

What Is an API?

An API (Application Programming Interface) lets two different systems communicate.

Using CUCollaborate’s APIs, your credit union can connect our tools directly into your own systems, applications, or workflows. This eliminates manual data pulls and enables real-time, automated checks that save staff time and improve accuracy.

Available APIs - Use these APIs individually or together depending on your goals.

🧩 Field of Membership (FOM) API

Instantly check if a person qualifies for credit union membership

The FOM API determines all the credit unions an individual is eligible to join based on field of membership rules. It returns a clear yes/no response along with details on qualification paths, making it ideal for online applications or call center tools.

📊 Low-Income Designation (LID) API

Track and manage your low-income member percentage

The LID API determines how an individual would count toward the NCUA’s Low-Income Designation based on their physical address. The API can also estimate whether a member would qualify as low-income by counting them as a high school student. The NCUA models this by prorating all members aged 14–19 based on school attendance rates from the Census Bureau’s American Community Survey (ACS). Use this API to determine LID qualification of current and potential members to support LID attainment and retention.

🌍 Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) API

Identify members, loans, or accounts that qualify for CDFI credit

The CDFI API checks if a member, loan, depository account, or board member meets CDFI Target Market criteria based on address and income. It supports portfolio analysis, CDFI Certification or Recertification, and ongoing compliance reporting.

💰 Emergency Capital Investment Program (ECIP) API

Classify loans for ECIP reporting and compliance

The ECIP API determines whether a borrower or loan meets ECIP’s definitions of Qualified Lending or Deep Impact Lending based on borrower/collateral address, income, and demographic criteria. It streamlines Quarterly Supplemental Report preparation and supports accurate loan classification.
