What is AnalyzeCU?

Through the use of a readily available, standardized data set, we have made data analytics accessible and actionable for all participants of the CUCollaborate platform—helping credit unions demonstrate purpose, economic impact and relevance to the stakeholders they serve.

The platform is comprised of several components that provide several views to assist credit unions in analyzing data such as detailed member demographics, how far a CU is from the minimum requirements to qualify as LID or CDFI, and the benefits and positive economic impacts that each credit union provides to its members and community.

What makes AnalyzeCU unique is its accessibility to credit unions of all sizes using common AIRES file extracts. The platform can aggregate and anonymize credit union data to provide an additional level of insights on product pricing, usage and potential product gaps.

AnalyzeCU relies on three elements in its' analysis:

AIRES files
The Data Preparer
Product Mapping

Here, we provide all necessary documentation and FAQs for each of these elements, giving you the tools you need to take full advantage of AnalyzeCU.

1. AIRES Files

AnalyzeCU uses your encrypted AIRES files’ data to carry out various computations.

FAQs

This is what you usually send to the NCUA when provide your AIRES files for Credit Union examinations.

What format do my AIRES files need to be in?
To submit your AIRES files to Data preparer it can be saved in several formats: xls, xlsx, csv, txt, tab-delimited (w/o extension). AnalyzeCU’s requirements match the NCUA’s layout specifications.

2. The Data Preparer

The Data Preparer is a desktop tool that was developed as an extension for the AnalyzeCU software. Its' main goal is to anonymize and encrypt PII (Personally Identifiable Information) and other sensitive data in your AIRES files. The app also supports decryption for certain reports that can be exported from within AnalyzeCU. Encryption and decryption of files is done with an encryption key which is generated in the Data Preparer app. The Data Preparer does not collect any sensitive data or statistics.

FAQs

How do I get access to the Data Preparer?
If you are registered user of AnalayzeCU you can download the Data Preparer from “Data Management” page. Otherwise, you can request a direct link from your personal Account Manager.

What is the Document Date?
Document Date is the date that the data within a file refers to, e.g. if an AIRES file lists loan (or share) accounts as of December 31st 2021, its document date would be 12/31/2021.

Can I upload my data into AnalyzeCU without going through the encryption process?
In order to protect any PII and make sure that your data is safe, AnalyzeCU accepts only files that have been encrypted by the Data Preparer. Files that were not encrypted will be rejected by the system.

Can I generate more than one encryption key?
It is required to use the same and only one encryption key within your organization. Make sure that you back up your encryption key. It is important to use the same encryption key so that your encrypted data is consistent over time and you can decrypt exported analysis from AnalyzeCU to get back to your original data.

What should I do if I lost the encryption key?
It is essential to use the same key for encrypting all of your AIRES files. If your unique encryption key is lost, you can generate a new one to encrypt and upload your files into AnalyzeCU. After, it is important to request the AIRES that were encrypted with the old key be deleted.

Can I upload a corrected AIRES file with the same Document Date?
You can upload only one AIRES file per each “Document Date”. As AnalyzeCU runs its analysis using the most recent "Document Date", if you would like to upload a corrected AIRES file it is best practice to delete the previous submission, and upload the correct file with the most recent document date.

Can I upload an encrypted AIRES files with validation warnings in the Data Preparer?
Yes, AIRES files that receive validation warnings during the encryption process can be uploaded into AnalyzeCU, but it can impact the accuracy of the analysis in AnalyzeCU.
